My Guinevere Lass (aka Guinie)

"Guinevere" stands for "Sweet Lady" and so her name means "My Sweet Lady Lass". She was ten weeks old when I got her. She only weighed 2.5 pounds! Later when I bred her to Gandyman, her puppies were 2.5 pounds at six weeks!!! She only grew to be nine pounds, and Gandyman weighs in at 14.5 pounds!
Her mother's name was Royal Aire's Pekeaboo, aka "Boo-Boo", and her daddy was Royal Aire's Pei Lee. Gandyman and Guinie had the same daddy.
She was Daddoo's precious little girl.
She would lay on the bed while he watched TV, totally content. Time didn't matter to her. If he watched TV all day, she would be there.
When she came to live with us, she was no bigger than a coffee mug. She was so small, Gandyman thought she was a gerble! He would run from her and keep his distance. It wasn't long before they were the best of friends and inseperable.
Gandyman took good care of Guinie. One day when she was real small, as I was giving them their vitamins, I put Gandyman's down in front of him and as I was getting out two for Guinie, Gandyman saw she didn't have any and so he took one of his and laid it in front of her and then stood back to watch her eat it.
They had one litter of babies. Samwise Gamgee is their boy and they all were so attached to each other, never one very far from the other. Guinie was the boss, and the boys both knew that! Gandyman allowed her the position of Queen since he was too mellow to care. Samwise (aka "Peanut") respected her opinions. Peanut's brother, his only sibling, went to live with our friends in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
She used to get scared when Paul would watch the ball games on TV and shout at the players. She would come to me and ask me to hold her, being insecure with his sudden outbursts.
Since she was so little, smaller than the boys, we always gave her an extra portion of food each evening. We called it "Chicky Time" and she would get so excited and gulp her food and then belch. It was the only un-lady-like thing she ever did. At precisely the same time each evening, she would hint that it was time for "Chicky Time". We would sing her song as we dished up the plates.

When she passed away so suddenly, that evening we just couldn't bring ourselves to have "Chicky Time" so everyone went to bed without their evening treat. All we could do was cry. From that day forward we no longer sang her song.
She was the Alpha and the Queen. She was Daddoo's precious little girl.
