His mother's name was Royal Aire's Connie Chan, and his daddy was Royal Aire's Pei Lee. Gandyman and Guinie had the same daddy.
When Guido started to lose his appetite, my friend, Leta, bought me a new puppy. She knew Guido was failing and she didn't want me to be alone. I named the new puppy "Gandalfe the Black Dancer" (lovingly called "The Gandy Dancer") because he would dance when I would come home after being away. "Gandalfe the Black", although it is spelled differently, was from the "Lord of the Rings" movie. I chose "Gandalfe the Black" because in the movies there was Gandolf the Gray and Gandolf the White. He put a magic spell on my heart immediately so I knew he was a wizard! He wanted so bad to play with Guido, but Guido was tired. The first thing they had in common, though, was The Frog. You can see a picture of all three of them in the slide show, when Gandy was ten months old.
When Gandy was ten months old, I got a friend for him and named her "My Guinevere Lass". Gandyman took good care of Guinie. One day when she was real small, as I was giving them their vitamins, I put Gandyman's down in front of him and as I was getting out two for Guinie, Gandyman saw she didn't have any and so he took one of his and laid it in front of her and then stood back to watch her eat it.
They had one litter of babies. Samwise Gamgee is their boy and they all were so attached to each other, never one very far from the other. Guinie was the boss, and the boys both knew that! Gandyman allowed her the position of Queen since he was too mellow to care. Samwise (aka "Peanut") respected her opinions. Peanut's brother, his only sibling, went to live with our friends in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Gandy is afraid of the thunder. He always comes to me when the sky starts falling. One time I was out on the deck and he thought I was in danger because the sky was going to fall, so he scratched and cried at the door until I came in from the deck. Once I was in the house, then everything was okay again.
Gandyman is a very mellow fellow. Nothing the other Pekes do to him seems to bother him at all. They play tug-o-war with his ears and he just lays upside-down on the floor and enjoys it. He loves all other Pekes and human children --- the more the merrier, he says.
He has Guido qualities. Guido taught him everything so I didn't have to -- like not to step on Momma's projects on the floor -- always walk around them. He trusts me. I can do anything to him -- wash his face, clean his ears, put in his eye medicine, pick thistles out of his butt, roll him over on his back -- he loves to go nite-time with his Momma, anxiously awaiting me to pick him up and lay him upside-down next to me.
He is my precious -- he is "Mumma's Bubba Boy".
