Lord Frodo Baggins (aka Doe-Doe)
(b) February 20, 2007
Sire: Ukee Bouncer Newcomb (sable, blk msk)
Dam: Coconut Newcomb (white)
We went down to Phoenix, Arizona, to pick up our new Pekingese puppies, Arwen and Frodo, in April, 2007. Frodo's breeder met us at PetSmart where we were introduced to Frodo for the first time. We put him on the floor after dozens of hugs. I knew he was going to be a smartie-pants because he just stared at me and took in everything around him.
Just like a Pekingese, he is so smart! He learned his name right away and got the doggie door figured out within a couple days even at 7 weeks old. He couldn't go up and down the steps on the deck, so he would go through the doggie door, poop on the deck, and then come back in. But he knew what was right and what was wrong and he has always been a clean little boy. He never smells like a "dog" even when he needs a bath and he is so much fun to cuddle.
His mother's name was Coconut Newcomb and his daddy was Ukee Bouncer Newcomb, both from Arizona.
He is the happiest Pekingese I have ever met. He also has a gentle personality that can't be matched. When he was a year and a half old, I had never heard him growl --- not once. He is a real tiny thing compared to the others, only weighing about 10 pounds. The bigger dogs bully him, (lovingly) chewing on his legs and ears and tail and neck, all at the same time. He sometimes gets himself into so much trouble with them that he has to try to make his way to me so I can "save" him. Then I get all sorts of kisses.
He hates getting his feet done and he fights me tooth and nail, but each time it gets easier and he gets more used to it. He loves his brushings as long as I stay away from his little butt. He loves his "Mommy" and after being outside for a while he will leave the pack outside and come in through the doggie door to check to see where I am.
He will eat anything. It doesn't matter if I am eating it or not, he will eat it. He likes chewable Vitamin C and chewable Calcium. He also likes bananas, oranges, apples, lettuce, carrots -- anything.
He loves to cuddle and he will get up on the bed and bury his little face in the pillows and rub around. He also likes to lick your feet. He will lick every inch of your feet and it feels like a little massage!
He doesn't like going in the car. He usually hides in a corner somewhere, not allowing me to put on his dog halter, and druels on himself while in the car.
He is my joy. He is my little Doe-Doe.

The Source of Frodo's Name
Movie: Lord of the Rings
Character: Frodo Baggins
Culture: Hobbit
Actor: Elijah Wood
Description: A Hobbit who undertakes the quest to destroy the One Ring
Frodo is a most unlikely hero. A Hobbit, small and quiet, but possessing a true and noble spirit, Frodo becomes the bearer of the One Ring when it is left to him by his famous Uncle Bilbo. The task therefore falls to him to do what no one else can, and destroy the ring by casting it into the fires of Mount Doom. The burden of this charge will lie heavy on Frodo, pulling at him constantly as he trods the perilous path to Mordor from whence the One Ring came.
Elijah Wood has been widely regarded as one of the most gifted actors of his generation. For his performance as Frodo in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, Wood was nominated for an MTV Award and shared an ensemble nomination from the Screen Actors Guild.
